Sissy Thiessen Kootenayoo of Wase Saba (Black Bear) Experiences is a Two Spirit Treaty 6 Nakota Sioux, Cree and German cultural educator, Powwow dancer, instructor and multidisciplinary performing artist. In this three-part series, Sissy will guide us to better understand Indigenous culture, protocol, and allyship.

Sunday, November 5 Sacred Speech & Allyship 101 Our last session teaches what you can actually do to be a true ally to Indigenous people. We will make plans for reconciliACTION, using the Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommendations, talk about Sacred Speech (learning about genocidal lowlights, what has and is happening here), Seven Sacred Teachings and writing Land Acknowledgments that include statements for action.
